In support of brave Iranian Women
Suppression, Tyranny and Crime against Humanity
Must be defied where ever it may be
"NEDA died with open eyes,
It is a shame to be alive with closed eyes"
Iranian women have been at the forefront of continued uprisings in Iran, echoing a clear message to the world:
"The Iranian regime has no legitimacy and future and people chanted 'Death to Dictator' and called for Freedom and Democracy"
Concurrent to the brutal suppression in Iran and to distract attentions from crimes committed, Tehran regime ventured in yet another crime.
On 28 July 2009, Iraqi armed forces attacked Camp Ashraf (near Iranian border in Iraq ), home to 3400 Iranian defenseless dissidents including 1000 brave women. This brutal attack resulted in 9 dead, 500 wounded and 36 people taken as hostages. All 1000 women and camp residents have been "protected persons" under the 4th Geneva Convention" each playing a significant role in the struggle against the misogynous fundamentalist tyranny in Iran .
As Jurists and NGOs including Amnesty International express abhorrence at the ongoing violence in Iran and Camp Ashraf against women, we the undersigned:
1- Demand release of all political prisoners in Iran specially women prisoners who are in deplorable situation
2- Demand immediate release of abducted 36 residents of the defenseless camp refugees, wounded and abducted on 28 July
3- Fully support the struggle of Iranian women to establish Freedom and Democracy in Iran
4-Support the rights of 1000 women and other residents in camp Ashraf under International Conventions
5- Demand a trial of those responsible for crimes committed against Humanity (in Iran and camp Ashraf ) by competent International courts.
6- Ask for the immediate presence of UN observation team or the presence of a competent UNHCR in Ashraf to control the critical situation.
